Huila is Colombia's most celebrated coffee region, nestled in the south where the Andes split into three cordilleras. The combination of volcanic soil, two harvest seasons per year, and significant altitude variation allows farmers to produce extraordinarily complex washed coffees. The Magdalena River valley moderates temperature and provides distinct wet and dry seasons that stress the plants favorably.
Huila produces some of South America's most consistently high-scoring microlots, with a natural sweetness and complexity that makes it ideal for specialty café menus and competitions.
